On Wednesday, November 10, the Snohomish County Council adopted its budget for 2022. This year the County is adopting the allowed 1% property tax increase and relying on a small portion of its banked capacity. The several ordinances that make up the budget include capital facilities spending including road, water, sewer and other infrastructure.
Also included was a 2021 priority set by DBIC, increased broadband infrastructure. Up to $5 Million is earmarked to deliver high speed broadband to rural residents in Snohomish County. The County is partnering with existing providers to identify projects to provide gap funding and resources to complete long planned for investments. Your Association testified in favor of the budget. Other new expenditures include new sheriff’s deputies, crisis responders and more.
